Security Licensing

In almost every country the security industry is regulated by law which lays down how individuals working in the industry must be licensed to operate. In most instances, all security guards, security guarding companies or guards with as security role must register with the authorities and obtain a license to practice. In the majority of cases, before a license will be issued, as security guard must have:
Appropriate and Approved Training
The licensing authority will normally decide what is appropriate and approved training and sometimes licenses training providers to deliver the courses. Although courses in a particular country may slightly differ in delivery from training provider to training provider, the content is more less the same. It is very important that security guards receive sufficient training in appropriate subjects to be able to operate within the law and with due regard for the safety of themselves and others with whom they may come into contact during their duties. It is also important that security guards receive some practical training in topics such as first aid, fire safety and self-defence. Knowing the theory is fine but useless without some pracitce.
Criminality Check
More often than not each security guard must undergo a criminality check which is conducted by the local police.
Renewing of license
licenses will be renewed as laid down by the local authorities.
Revocation of License
licenses may be revoked by the local authority because, for example, a security guard commits a criminal offense or the security guard is outside the proscribed age limit for security guards or they have not received the required training.
Key Personnel within Your Own Organization
It is also important that a security guard knows and can identify the key personnel within their own and the client's organizations. It is your responsibility to ensure you have this information and learn it so that embarrassing situations do not arise. Although you must be able to identify key guard such as supervisors, line managers, contracts managers and operations managers, they should not receive any special treatment from you in relation to your duties. Your role and responsibilities applies as much to them as any other guard

The Recess Period

The recess period in a school is a great relief to the students. It brings them joy and happiness. I anxiously wait for it like all others. As soon as they bell announces its beginning, i run out of my classroom to the tuck shop. There is a great rush in the corridors i meet several friends on the way. We have our refreshment. There is a great noise. Everybody cries out his needs and wants to be served first. We laugh and talk and make merry. Some student take this opportunity to copy out homework from the exercise books of their friends. Some of us are punished by detention in the class for 25 or 30 minutes. They really feel sad.

Overview and Purpose of the Security Industry

The security industry has one main purpose that is to provide personnel and systems to protect people, property and premises. This is the perspective taken by the security industry. To achieve this goal of protection, the industry can be divided into three sectors. The three main sectors are:-
Manned Services: Includes the provision of uniformed or plain clothed personnel to commercial, industrial and retail outlets. The role of these Guards are to ensure the safety and security of people, spaces and property under guard (often called cash in transit or CIT), store detection, door supervision, close protection, dog handling, aviation security, maritime security and private investigation.
Systems: The systems sector comprises intruder alarms; CCTV, fire systems and access control systems. Simply put this aspect of security is supported largely by technology.
Physical Security: Includes alternative/additional security measures such as locks, grills, barriers. It is all about the physical characteristics of the building and surrounding areas and how they can be used to enhance the security of premises. Again there is less emphasis on personnel, however more so than security systems, there is a stronger relationship between security personnel and physical security. As a security guard you will therefore have a role in a significant part of the whole industry and this will become clearer as the course progresses. The role of the security guard has changed significantly overtime, involving increasing responsibilities and the use of high technology.

My Ambition in Life

Illiteracy is the greatest curse in Pakistan and so to be help of my countrymen. I want to be a teacher. My object in becoming a teacher is not to amass a  wealth by tuition or other unfair means but simply how to show light to my ignorant countrymen. I shall take pride in becoming a good teacher. All the Prophets of God were great teachers. So this profession is a legacy of the Prophets. Our Holy Prophet laid great stress on education. So, i think, any help given to the cause of education is the greatest service to humanity. They can save themselves from evil and diseases by becoming educated.

A Morning Walk

I get up early in the morning and join my friends for a walk to the canal. We pass through the Jinnah Gardens. Birds fly about  chirping and singing their merry songs. The cool morning breeze in summer makes us fresh. On reaching the canal, we have a bath and say our morning prayer on the bank. We walk up and down for a few minutes. We see scores of other people, swimming, bathing or enjoying a walk along the bank. The dew drops glisten like pearls in the morning sun. We return home happy and cheerful in about two hours. A morning walk does good to our health.

A House On Fire

It was a night in July. I was sleeping in the open on the roof of my house. At about midnight, i was awakened by the noise of Fire, Fire I jumped out of bed and saw the flames rising from the house only third to ours. I soon ran down and ran to the house on fire with a bucket of water. Dozens of other people were already there. Several of them were removing the inmates and household goods. Many more were throwing buckets of water on the flames to bring them under control. I also joined them. The inmates were running about and crying for help. I ran up the Fire Brigade. It arrived in about half an hours. It threw water on the fire by means of big canvas hoses. It extinguished the fire in about twenty minutes. Fortunately, there was no loss of life but the loss of property was about 50 thousand rupees.

My Favourite Hobby

Stamp-collecting is my favourite hobby. I became interested in it at the age of eleven. On my eleventh birthday, my friend Waseem presented to me an album bearing a hundred beautiful stamps of foreign countries. After that i also took to removing all old stamps from letters and parcels. My father used to get a number of letters and parcels from foreign countries. So, it became easy for me to collect stamps of American, European and Muslim countries. I made a pen friends in some foreign countries and exchanged Pakistani stamps with them. At present, I have over two thousand stamps of 40 countries in my album. I take pride in my collection and am ever keen on adding to it.

My Favourite Game

i ma very fond of Hockey. I play this game every evening. I am a member of the school first eleven. I play as left half. Hockey is a very fast game. A team consist of eleven players. Two teams stand opposite to each other. The game starts with a bully at the center by the center-forwards of the two teams. Each tries to hit the ball to one of his partisans to carry it forward to the opposite goal. Every player jumps into action when the game starts. He cannot take his eyes off the ball, lest he should miss it. Hockey is a popular game all over the world.

A Street Hawker

A street hawker is commonly seen in towns as well as in village. He carries his ware on his head or in a handbarrow or cart. He is usually a poor man and cries his ware aloud all day long. The children flock around him to busy sweets or cheap fruit. The ladies buy vegetables and fruit for the family. Some hawkers sell cloth ad other articles of daily use. He finds a large number of customers easily, girls buy earrings, bangles, laces and toilet goods. He usually wears dirty clothes and is often poor. His job is a hard one. He hardly makes both ends meet. He demands twice the price of his goods but the bargain is struck at 40 or 50 percent. Nevertheless people get used to his way. They consider him useful in getting things at home

The School Peon

Ali is our school peon. He is short, well built man. He is a Pathan from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province. He is a very obedient and dutiful man. He is very noble and gentle. The headmaster and the teachers are pleases with him. He opens the headmaster's room and the staffroom early in the morning and dusts them. He also shuts both these rooms, when the school is over. He rings the bell punctually after each period. He sits on bench outside the headmaster's office. He carries out the headmaster's orders to the teachers. He also puts up all papers and applications before the headmaster. He also runs the teacher's errands. He takes the headmaster's box hoe and brings it back in the morning. He does a lot of work, but his pay is small.

Policeman

The Policeman is an important Government Servant. He is responsible for maintaining law and order in towns. He wears a Khaki uniform with a blue cap on his head and belt round his waist. He acts as watchman at night. He keeps an eye on bad characters. It is very sad that Policeman is dreaded rather than loved by the public servant. This is due to the harassment he spreads among the public on flimsy pretexts to get money. He should be educated and honest so that he should earn the confidence of the public. As such eh will become a guide and a useful public. His duty is very hard  but he low paid Government servant

The Postman

The Postman is very useful public servant. He usually has a Khaki Uniform. He keeps his dak in a a leather bag hanging down in shoulder. He sorts out his letters and arranges them to deliver them from door to door and from shop to shop. In towns registered letters, parcels, money orders and V.P.P.'s are delivered by a separate postman. In villages, however, a single postman does everything. The postman is anxiously awaited there by everybody. He brings good news as well as bad news. The villagers love him and even entertain him. The postman gets a salary of about Rs.1000/PM and pension on retirement

My Best Friend

Mr. Waseem is my best friend. Both of us are about the same age. We live in the same street. He is the monitor of our class. He comes of a rich family. We go to school together and return to hoe together. Both of us are members of the school Cricket Elven. He is  good batsman. He is very well up in studies also. So all the teachers love him. He is popular with his class fellows for his good manners. He is regular in his prayers like a good Muslim boy. He never mixes with bad boys. He never goes to pictures or see absurd telecasts. I am really proud of such a good and sincere friend. "A friend in need is a friend indeed". can be truly said of him.
